The “Pax Cultura” t-shirt was inspired by a pact that was created in 1935 to protect three vital circles of culture in times of war and threat - Art, History and Science. Idioma's simple design celebrates the importance of these three elements in our daily lives - in this simple black organic tee you can celebrate what these three things mean to you.

Idioma, derives its name from the Spanish for language. Phrases from around the world focusing on freedom, exploration and nature adorn Idioma’s collection and are accompanied by playful illustrations.

Use of organic cotton

Cut & sew factory audited by Fair Wear Foundation

Embroidered in the UK

Idioma have partnered with a sourcing agent who help emerging designers source sustainably and ethically. This agent visit factories daily during production to monitor working conditions and ensure nothing is subcontracted out to un-regulated factories. Each of the factories is also independently audited by the Fair Wear Foundation and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).

Idioma's patches are woven by GB Labels who have their own factory in South West Wales.

Organic virgin cotton protects the environment and health of farmers from the damaging intensive fertilisers and pesticides conventionally used.

Idioma’s sourcing partner encourage factories to employ strict waste control and use energy efficient machines.

Areas For Development

Idioma's sourcing agent visits the factories producing their t-shirts frequently to follow up on corrective action plans from Fair Wear Foundation audit reports. Gradually increasing wages and reducing overtime are issues included in the discussions though they remain challenges to the factories.
