Description
100% organic cotton jacket with embroidery on the back. This is a collaboration with artist Marco Oggian.
The garment features a "THINK BIG" sleeve label, a brown jacron back label, and personalized "if you can read this, you're too close" buttons.
Born in 1990 in Venice and raised in Italy, Marco Oggian currently live in Spain. He has worked on over 150 projects around the world.
Marco often uses simple shapes and bold colors to highlight critical, controversial, and social issues. His posters and prints have played a prominent role in many iconic moments in recent years, from criticism of the war in Syria to the Black Lives Matter protests last June. Strong sarcasm is a feature of his work that often generates two very distinct opinions in the viewer. Ultimately, Marco is not afraid to stand up for a cause, and that’s clearly reflected in his work.

People
NWHR’s denim is made by Sip Group in Tunisia. Tunisia is close to NWHR’s HQ in Spain which has helped them to build a strong relationship with the supplier.
NWHR is a team of 5, four women and one man. Employees have flexibility to work from home or the office as suits their routine and enjoy 30 days of vacation compared to the 22 days allowed by Spanish law. NWHR is committed to being an inclusive business and actively support the LGTBI community in their social networks.
Planet
SIP Group who make NWHR’S denim specialises in high quality denim production using the latest technology and machines. The TONELLO washing machines used are very water and energy efficient.
NWHR only works with heavy fabrics over 200gsm, using high quality organic yarns that are not dyed with harmful chemicals. This means their clothing is crafted to last.
Organic cotton helps farmers avoid the health risks and financial pressures associated with the toxic chemicals used in conventional cotton farming. It also supports surrounding communities by preserving (rather than depleting) local water supplies and keeping them clean.

Areas for development
NWHR cite ‘self-criticism and the desire to improve’ as fundamental values of the business. They would like to explore the use of additional lower impact fabrics such as hemp and Pyratex. In addition they would like to see the factories they work with increase the % of renewable energy they use and change all their lights to LEDs.
