How do you ensure the products you sell meet your ethical standard?

We take the time to go dialogue with our partner brands and seek to build up a clear picture of each idividual products supply chain. We are looking for evidence that the points listed in our standard are met. It's normal for us not to list every product from a partner brand. 

To give us confidence in a brands suppliers we look for well respected certifications (for example GOTS, Fairtrade, SA8000). But sometimes there are smaller suppliers or those located in traditional low-risk countries that do not hold these certifications. Here we require brands to show they undestand the relevant issues to the sourcing context and have practices that address them. Normally these would include factory visits, long term relationships and agreed ethical codes of conduct with suppliers.
