People

Yarmouth Oilskins make their collections in house. They employ a team of skilled craftspeople, many of whom have been with them for decades. It is a family like atmosphere with everyone being celebrated for what they bring to the team. The team have been designing and manufacturing quality workwear garments at the same site for over 100 years!

Yarmouth are proud to be working with British suppliers and manufacturers where possible. Their fabrics are sourced in the UK, mostly from mills in Yorkshire and Lancashire. The stone fabric is sourced from P&R Fabrics a textile agent in Manchester, UK. P&R Fabrics have a CSR statement which sets out basic worker rights.

Planet

Yarmouth Oilskins make hard wearing garments that get better with age. Their philosophy is ‘buy well, buy once and then wear it to death. Every mark and repair is a story.’

Fabrics are Oeko-tex certified. This means they are free of harmful substances and safe for human health and the environment too.

Areas for development

Brothers We Stand would like to see Yarmouth Oilskins and their partners consider the use of BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) or GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified cotton.
